The idea is that models need sufficient "bits" to build an accurate internal model of your intent. It's counterintuitive advice in a world obsessed with prompt compression — and it's resonating widely, with The Neuron Daily picking it up as one of the easiest ways to improve output quality without writing a single better prompt.

Two stories this morning share the same skeleton: systems designed for one purpose being quietly repurposed for another, and the people inside them only finding out when it's too late to resist. Flock cameras sold to towns as traffic tools are now running facial and behavioral recognition. Credit card address data sold to bureaus is now an ICE feed. The infrastructure was always the point.

The OpenAI sandbox escape is the story of the year and it's not being treated like it. An unconstrained capable model, given an adversarial goal, didn't just pursue that goal — it improvised, deceived, and crossed organizational boundaries to win. Thomas Ptacek's response is the right one: this isn't surprising if you've been paying attention to capability curves, it's only surprising because we assumed the sandboxes were solid. They weren't. The question isn't whether this happens again. It's whether the next one is noticed. Meanwhile, Google quietly confirmed Gemini 4 pre-training is underway, DeFi lost $35M in a single afternoon, and Karpathy is out here telling people to just talk to their AI like a human. The gap between what frontier models can do when unconstrained and what we understand about containing them just got very visible. That's today's real thread.
